The European research infrastructure for biobanking BBMRI-ERIC, the European Research Infrastructure for Translational Medicine (EATRIS) and the European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN) released a joint statement on Horizon Europe. Speaking at ICRI 2018, the International Conference for Research Infrastructures, in Vienna, Erik Steinfelder presented Carlos Moedas, EU Commissioner for research, science and innovation, with a hard copy of the statement.
In their joint paper, BBMRI-ERIC, EATRIS and ECRIN identify four critical success factors for optimal outcomes in the next funding period with regard to the upcoming Horizon Europe framework programme:
- Avoiding undesired duplication and fragmentation;
- Safeguarding quality and enhancing reproducibility;
- Supporting public engagement by promoting responsible research policies;
- Enabling rigorous innovation management.
